Welcome to the Danger Zone
Planning a milestone event is in many ways similar to a wedding. Often, a client will have a goal, but not necessarily a complete vision. Milestone events often have a deeper emotional hold for the guest of honor. For example, a christening, a 90th birthday or a celebration of life party. It is my job to chat with my clients about what the guest of honor likes, what colors, patterns and foods they enjoy. The next step is to bring the event to life. For this Top Gun themed 40th Birthday Party aka Milestone Event the guest of honor happened to be my husband, Adrian! Talk about the pressure of a party.
This party started off as a surprise, but living in the same house with the guest of honor can be tricky! Especially, when he has a compulsive need to know everything. Turning 40 only happens once, so I figured that if he had to know, then at least he would help me stuff the huge stack of invitations!
Choosing a theme for Adrian was simple. He is a pilot for American Airlines and his favorite movie is Top Gun. Hence, a match made in event planning heaven. Because I knew that I couldn’t do this alone, I compiled a dream team of vendors. The Danger Zone is not easy to achieve! I would be remiss if I failed to mention both of our families for their tremendous support and part in setting up the morning of the party. Thank you for reading about my Top Gun 40th Birthday Party!
